I've used it about 6 or 7 times so far. I've had no early durability issues, no difference of taste and clean up is very easy. I wash it off with warm water and take a sponge with dish soap and clean it off. takes about a minute or two. I've used this with salmon, chicken, hamburgers and steaks. I bought these because I've used heavily used the grill I have for the last 4 years and instead of buying a new one due to much wear I decided to try these. I'm glad I did. I was skeptical at first, but with the money back guarantee I gave it a shot. You can't go wrong with these mats....unless you disregard the instructions.
These grill mats are the best both in quality and durability, AND the highest accolades go to the customer service team of this company. I expressed concern over one of the mats showing some of the fabric after a couple of uses, and without question the replacement was sent out and received in short order. In a day of internet purchases and seemingly no one at the other end, I can fully assure any purchaser of this product that these mats are great and further enhanced by the superb customer service and belief in their product.
Finally fish on the grill! I had about given up on grilling fish, with it sticking and falling apart, not to mention usually dried out. At the price of halibut (my wife's preferred fish) it was just too risky to ruin a good piece of fish on the grill. Well, the Grill Mat to the rescue! I just barbecued some halibut to perfection with just a little olive oil. We will be eating more fish now for sure. And I can see easily grilling thinner species like cod fillets for fish tacos...
Never tried cooking mats prior to this. LOVE THEM!!! Chicken and fish cook like cooking on the grates, but no sticking to the burners. Juices and marinate stay on the meat and cook into it as it does not drip off into the fire. Cooking fish, vegetables and even beef is so MUCH more enjoyable and profitable as nothing is lost to the underworld of the grill. They Work GREAT!!! Where have I been????
Where have these things been all my life??? They are amazing! Used them the first night that I got them and have used them several times since. They are super easy to clean and if you put them on a new grill it will always stay looking new. No more scrapping the grill and putting the char dust all over the place. I saw a commercial for a similar product that melted cheese on the mat and then just wiped up the bubbling mess with one clean sweep, I had to try that. I did and it came right up, no mess. And you still can get a good char and grill marks using these. I have bought another set for my folks. buy buy buy, they will make great gifts as well.
These grill mats are for real. They leave grill marks just like on your grates, it eliminates the mess all over your grill, you can cook small items without them falling through the grill grates, its non-stick, so you don't loose any meat that sticks to the grates and its super easy to clean. I can't believe I didn't know about these wonderful but simple mats in all my years of grilling. I don't think I will ever grill without them from now on! I've tried other mats with similar results but these are heavy duty, thicker and feel like they will last a long time with many uses. Worth every penny.
This is a great mat. I trimmed it to fit my Weber and have cooked three meals on it. First and foremost it keeps my grill clean and looking new. No glop to contend with. Grill marks and that nice little taste of bark can still be obtained. Wish i had purchased these a few years ago. If you like to grill out just go for it.
I just got this two days ago and have used it twice. I have had zero issues, cooked an egg right on the grill, sliced mushrooms, scallops, cherry tomatoes, and I don't worry about a thing falling through. Nothing sticks. Cleanup takes two seconds. I love these things!
Some guys I play golf with recommended grill mats to keep my bar-b-q clean while still providing a seared result on steaks. I have used them for Halibut, sirloin steak and ground beef. I preheat the grill with the mats in place and in every case so far the meat or fish comes out as good or better than without them plus the grill is clean. They are easy to clean once they col off. I am glad I bought them and intend to purchase more for my other home. I have recommended them to friends and relatives. Sear lines still show on meat which I find amazing.
These grill mats are far superior to the garbage ones I have used in the past. The first time I used them, it was so obvious to see. The nonstick properties of these are so much better. The fact they are so much thicker also makes a world of difference. And the fact these can be used up to 600 degrees is also an added perk. I have already ordered a second set to send to my brother, who is also an avid griller. If you're looking for grill mats, spend the extra couple dollars and get the best.
These are very sturdy and transfer the heat extremely well. I have used another brand in the past and these are a huge step up, well worth the price. My previous mats started becoming brittle and getting cracks and holes after a few months. One mat had a small defect in it so I reached out to the seller; very impressed with their quick response and solution (full replacement) even though they stated this would not effect performance.
I gave it five stars as the ease of using this was incredible. I used it for the first time today and cooked chicken breasts on them. While not get the traditional grill marks on the chicken I did get a nice brown coating on them. While I used a browning season I can still see the browning where the seasoning was not coating the chicken. My Weber will heat up to 700 degrees so I was careful to get it between 500-600. It didn't take long to get the browning on one side and it didn't take long to finish cooking the breasts. I would have rated this a 4-star as I really love my char grill marks but this does a nice brown as you'll see but what really sold me was the clean up. I ran warm water on it and used a small brush with soap and this mat was clean in no time. I'm going to enjoy cooking with this I believe.
�I purchased these to use on my stainless steel griddle on my grill to reduce the cleanup time on of the griddle. Well, I now have no cleanup of the griddle, just a couple seconds cleaning off the grill mat which I can do in my sink. I also have noticed that the food seemed to cook more evenly and did not have those few burn spots that I would end up with putting the meat straight on the griddle. I wish I would have purchased these along time ago. Will be purchasing more soon as backups.
Keeps your grill new! Nothing sticks when cooking with this mat. No burnt grease can get down in your grill. This mat kept my new grill good as new. It turned my budget Weber into an infrared cooking machine. Just the heat gets up through making grill marks and keeping the mess up top, where it's easily washed off in the sink, rather than being caked on burnt crud that never gets removed from the grill and attracts wasps.
I cut one mat to fit a smaller grill and used the full sized mat on a larger grill. I put an oven thermometer on each grill to see how hot they get. Both grills have exceeded 400 degrees F with no harm to the mats. Some meats have carbonized a little and stuck to the mats. They clean easily in the sink. I get good grill marks on hamburger, ribs, and chicken. I cooked fried eggs, bacon, and sausage yesterday with great results on the large mat. If I suspect something will carbonize on the mat, I spray the mat with a little Pam before cooking. Remember to not use metal utensils on the mat.
I used it for the 1st time the other day on smoking fish, which can be a messy thing. The mat did well to keep the fish from burning and the cleanup was a breeze. With results like that on fish, I'm pretty sure that any other meat is going to be great on it. I am going to be using it when I make bread and pizza as well, I figure it will work better than parchment paper, which partially burns in the heat.
These mats are amazing! I purchased two of them. One for my gas BBQ grill and one for my cast iron grill that sits on my gas stove in the house. The mats perform perfectly in both cooking formats and I couldn't be happier with them. I use the mat on the BBQ at its full size and have custom cut the other mat to perfectly fit my cast iron grill. As others have mentioned, the mat will reduce the sear marks since it's buffering the direct contact with the metal; however, I'm much more interested in a perfectly cooked piece of meat than the look of some burn marks. :)
OK, I asked the seller if these could be used on a NuWave induction cooktop as a protector from cast iron pans. They said yes. they were right!! It is awesome. For some reason I was thinking they would be less slippery, but regardless they protect the cooktop very well and are not damaged by 500 degree heat.
Wow, why didn't I know about this sooner? I use a lot of seasoning and marinades and it makes a mess of the grill. This cooks like being right on the grates without the mess to the grates. Let it cool and bring it to the sink to wash, that simple! After my sister had metal from those wire brushes found in her intestine, no way do I want to clean with that again. This takes care of that and keeps your grill like new. It fits my Weber Q2200 perfectly. I wash it, dry it and put it on the grill, then fold down the tables and they stay clean also. I have been telling everyone about these mats. Thumbs up from someone who grills year round.
These make keeping the grill clean so simple and the mats themselves are very easy to clean after use. The only issue we've had using them was with burgers and the fat not having anywhere to drain. We ended up slicing a few holes in the mat to allow drainage because it was just too much trying to cook in all that. Otherwise steaks, chicken, pork, and veggies have all cooked on the mats perfectly. Non stick and so easy to clean! Love them!
My friend & neighbor introduced me to this product so I bought it; tried it last evening with marinated pork chops on the grill and was astounded at the results.
These mats worked as described and I was pleased with the result. They are easy to clean and do leave grill marks on whatever is being cooked. If there's an issue is that the mat has such a non-stick surface that whatever you are cooking can slide around the mat. As such, use good tongs or a good spatula when trying to flip your food.
