I bought this set with a plan to clean some stained grout but in the meantime have used these attachments to clean the heck out of all kinds of stuff. The brushes have shown to be very tough and durable on every surface. The largest diameter brush does get a little tough to handle on rough surfaces, fyi
Love this brush set! It made it so much easier to clean our shower. We have hard water and I typically would use a scrub brush to get the floor of the shower clean. This makes that task so much faster and easier. I also used it on the side wall of the shower where the soap scum/hard water are the most noticeable, and it looks so much nicer. The brushes are hard enough to clean the buildup, but don't scratch the fiberglass shower surround. Great product.
I would NEVER have thought to use a power drill for bathroom cleaning but it's brilliant! I especially like the round headed brush for the bathtub. I can maneuver through the nooks and crannies at high speed. Fantastic! The smallest is especially useful to clean the shower head. I would recommend using a full power drill for the first time cleaning so that the tub will be fully scrubbed. After that a small size drill is quite enough if you want to have a dedicated drill. Now get cleaning!
Did a lot of research before purchasing this set of power brushes. Read dozens and dozens of reviews. Finally settled on this set of brushes based on the versatility provided by the various sizes. I give this set of brushes 2 thumbs up! First of all I went to the local Harbor Freight Tool store and bought a $16.99 18 volt cordless drill the day I ordered the brushes. Not a very top of the line drill, but figured it would be a good test. Charged up the drill battery and waited the 2 short days to receive these brushes. The amount of brownish scum that had built up in our fiberglass tub/shower was so thick that my wife was actually scraping it off and had completed about a 2 foot square area before I was ready to try these brushes. I sprayed about a 4' x 5' area with Scrubbing Bubbles and let that sit for 2 minutes. Then I used the middle size flat power brush. With no exaggeration, it was almost fun for me to clean away the scum and discoloration. The tub and shower walls were turning white with virtually no effort. I finished the project with an equal use of the two larger flat brushes and then used the big rounded brush to get the curved area of the tub and around the fixtures and grab bars. Total time for the cleaning project was 15-20 minutes and some of that time was switching out brushes and getting the general feel for how it works. Didn't have to apply much pressure since the rotating brushes did most of the work. The cheap drill I bought would make a ratcheting sound if I pushed too hard, so finished the whole job with a minimal amount of pressure. Finished the job, gave the brushes a quick rinse and put everything away. One Tip: I read some reviews where people stated that the rotating brushes made a mess by spraying/flinging the cleaning chemicals all over the walls and themselves. I used Scrubbing Bubbles and put a full white coat of this cleaning product over the surface to be cleaned. Then after 2 minutes, the white 'scrubbing bubbles' had mostly evaporated leaving just enough moisture for a good smooth cleaning, but not enough to get me and everything else messy. I would highly recommend this set of brushes to anyone! Was extremely satisfied with the end result and the whole tub/shower was able to be cleaned on just one battery charge on my $16.99 drill. Its a good feeling to buy something that actually does what you expect it to do.
Excellent product. I used this on my solid top range and in a matter of a couple of minutes, my range top looked like it was new. Next, I moved into the shower and started on the tile. Again, excellent results in no time flat. The brushes seem to be well made and aren't at all cheesy. Hopefully, they will last. These brushes combined with Bar Keepers Friend (liquid form) made my showers sparkle. A couple of suggestions. First, make sure your tile is formed from material that can withstand the cleaner, as well as the torque of the brushes. I suspect use on slate tile would be a big no. Next, since many tile cleaners contain some heavy chemicals, I found I needed eye protection. While using the rounded head to get into the corners, I did get some spattering.
If I had the notion each time I order these, I would buy 5 sets at a time just to keep brushes on hand when I needed them. Bristles last a good while even with heavy use. I looked long and hard before finding and sticking with these!
If you have any doubt that these brushes won't work for you, let me tell you about my experience with them. I used the brush heads on tile, grout, porcelain tub, shower stall glass doors and chrome hardware that had all forms of soap scum and mold and mildew, and I can say they haven't looked this good in a long time. I wish I had taken some before and after pictures to include with the review, but I was having too much fun (yes cleaning) to remember to do it. You will need to have a strong grip and wrists, but once you get the hang of it, the heads really do the job. I can't say that whatever you are working on will look brand new again, but it will look so much better with a great less amount of work on your part since the drill is doing most of the effort. I have used them with soap and scum remover and soft scrub products and everything is clean and shiny again - even the grout between the tiles. I would recommend that you have towels handy to keep any splash back from setting on the drill for too long. Finished the master bath and now onto the kids bathroom!
They save me a tremendous amount of time in cutting through tough grime. If you have a tough cleaning job, these are worth their weight in gold. The only thing to watch out for is that they are powerful and will likely chew up caulked joints which will require a re-caulking. Chances are that the caulk is damaged as well, so no real extra work required. I'd like to also comment that I use them with a plug-in drill and they work just fine.
Scrubbing tub, tile, and toilet clean has NEVER been so EASY! Great products! The quality of the bush heads is solid, all made with real metal in the shanks and thick, solid plastic bodies. Fits right into the quick disconnect shank I have in my drill so swapping between the toilet scrubber and one of the round heads is as simple as it can be.
These add-on tools are great and work very nicely with my Makita power drill. The attachments do a great job cleaning many areas of my home. It decreases the need for lots of elbow grease. They've already been used many times and work great.
My wife wishes she would have got this for me sooner! I can't believe I didn't have one of these a long time ago. I hate cleaning...I mean I HATE it! But using this attachment for my drill, it makes it quick and easy!
Arrived well packaged and product works as advertised. Have used the brushes on a portable drill and the cleaning power greatly reduces the workload. So far they have not taken a set such as what happens with a lower quality brush.Would buy again and am considering some other guage brushes as needs evolve.
Easy way to "refresh" grout! Was so much easier than scrubbing very small diamond grout lines by hand. White grout is definitely cleaner than before and looks whiter. It's hard to keep white grout lines looking white in high traffic areas like the bathroom. It looks much better and feel sure it will continue to improve with each cleaning.
